TUFS Music Fan Club Lunch Meeting: "Show & Tell: Music Fan Essentials" Discussion

The TUFS Music Fan Club, established by the International Education Support Office (IES), held a lunch meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The discussion topic was "Show & Tell: Music Fan Essentials"?and we encouraged group members to bring something that symbolises being a music fan. Around 15 students, staff, and faculty members attended the meeting, so we split into two groups, and each participant introduced their item.?The wide range of items (CDs, electric guitar, drumsticks, Central-Asian traditional instrument, band merch, records, etc.) generated enthusiastic discussions and highlighted the many ways music is a part of our lives.

The goal of the TUFS Music Fan Club is to bring together TUFS faculty, staff, and students through their common love of music. We welcome any member of the TUFS community – from first year undergraduates to emeritus professors – to join us in thinking about how musical activities as listener and/or performer enrich our study of language and culture. There are no restrictions on genre, skill, or language – TUFS’ mission is “intercultural coexistence”. Join us in creating a space for learning more about genres that we perhaps do not usually listen to, using Japanese, English, and music to communicate.
